The MundaneThis city is too quiet for me. I have been here too long, and yet I cannot leave its concrete walls.

Night has come again.

My friend and I walk side by side. I don’t know his name. I’m not sure he even has one. His sleeves are long, disappearing into shallow pockets, and the glasses perched upon his nose are rose colored.

He speaks to me, but the words are backwards, so I just give him a nod. My own eyes are trained on the small yellow flowers growing up between the cracks in the cobblestone. I don’t have the heart to tell them how boring it is here.

I find cutting the base of the neck with a good knife allows heavier flow.
